Authors: Nick Land
Version: Retrieved for the candidate pack on 2026-10-31 (SHA-256 1e2add2278bb1cc97ed6045f2db876c940b50d45163aa607ed32f32fd5636eef). CCRU web page, undated; the page carries no date and no statement of where the text was first given or printed. Archive copy: Open archived copy, captured 2004-02-03: Meltdown. An archive copy shows only what the archive retrieved on 2004-02-03. It does not prove what the page said earlier, and it can differ from the copy checked on 2026-10-31.
Attribution: Nick Land, “Meltdown”, 1997.
Reuse: No open redistribution licence asserted. Bibliographic metadata, editorial paraphrases and short attributed quotations (at most 50 words each). Recheck terms before wider redistribution.
Check notes: Candidate pack passage, machine succession, scale and acceleration (research/heterodox-thought). The quotation (14 words) matched the text retrieved for the candidate pack on 2026-10-31. Matching ignored differences of whitespace, case, quotation marks, dashes and Unicode compatibility forms, so the source’s typography can differ. The reference list reads 'Dx1 K. Eric Drexler, Engines of Creation'. A cross-family machine check (2026-11-01, item 142) re-read the source and agreed that the passage names the earlier text or author. No human editorial review.
